Azuki beans

In Japan, Azuki beans cooked with lots of sugar and used for sweets such as fillings for rice cake (mochi), ice cream, agar (jelly) deserts, pastries, drinks, soups, etc.  It is also eaten with rice but commonly used for the sweets. 

They are considered to be very healthy food because contain virtually no fat or cholesterol, and are a good source of dietary fiber and protein.
